6 years....

And counting. For 6 years people have been wrongly imprisoned at the Guatanamo Bay Detention 'Camp'. For 6 years, they have lived in cages. For 6 years, they have been blindfolded and chained. For 6 years, they have been tortured and denied basic human rights. For 6 years, they have not had any court hearing. For 6 years, they have suffered in a silence born of their muzzles and not their hearts or minds. For 6 years, the Bush administration has imprisoned these so-called terrorists and POWs, most of which were peasants and civilians picked up off the street in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Don't take my word for it. Go and read. Go and watch The Road To Guantanamo. Please be bothered that humanity hasn't found its soul even in this day and age with so much bloodshed behind us.

oh yeah, saw this one.

but humanity finding its soul?

i think its a question of scale....

we have found more our soul than previously,

just that its not good enough.....

before crimes like these would happen without any scrutiny, nowadays its impossible to hide it.

@restless...I don't completely agree...I'm talking about a history that has seen racial profiling and abuse time and time again and still deigns to repeat it. And as for scrutiny, if you're talking about the 20th century onwards, I think that there has been enough evidence to show reality for what it is. Maybe not as much in WWI but surely from WWII and post that into Korea and Vietnam and Cambodia and so on...there has been enough scrutiny with the lens and the word to awaken the collective conscience.
If it isn't good enough don't we need to make it good enough?
Yeah, its all idealistic shite but if everyone was a cynic what then?
Just put forward our views and sit back knowing that there's no hope anyway...
That's not good enough..
