6 years....
And counting. For 6 years people have been wrongly imprisoned at the Guatanamo Bay Detention 'Camp'. For 6 years, they have lived in cages. For 6 years, they have been blindfolded and chained. For 6 years, they have been tortured and denied basic human rights. For 6 years, they have not had any court hearing. For 6 years, they have suffered in a silence born of their muzzles and not their hearts or minds. For 6 years, the Bush administration has imprisoned these so-called terrorists and POWs, most of which were peasants and civilians picked up off the street in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Don't take my word for it. Go and read. Go and watch The Road To Guantanamo. Please be bothered that humanity hasn't found its soul even in this day and age with so much bloodshed behind us.

Today
---Diya Pinto, petite and pretty in white, with a wisdom far beyond her years taught me a new method of meditation. It was one of the most profound experiences of my life. Thanks a ton Diya. :)
---Shahrukh 'Kabir' Khan and his 16 hockey stick wielding maidens showed me that American sports flicks are a whole lot of crapolla compared to our very own Chak De India. I haven't enjoyed a film so much in ages. SRK was at his understated best, happily giving up the limelight to the girls, who were all brilliant and completely natural. I even felt guilty for loving cricket so much. And I'm a damn fool for missing it on the big screen. (secret: I actually like Hindi films, even the cheesy ones) Oh, well.

Remembering Victoria
"Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
But she doesn't have a lot to say
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
But she changes from day to day
I want to tell her that I love her a lot
But I gotta get a belly full of wine
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
Someday I'm gonna make her mine
Oh yeah....
Someday I'm gonna make her mine"
But she doesn't have a lot to say
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
But she changes from day to day
I want to tell her that I love her a lot
But I gotta get a belly full of wine
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
Someday I'm gonna make her mine
Oh yeah....
Someday I'm gonna make her mine"
